What is Cruelty-Free Interior Design?

Why would interior design involve any cruelty in the first place and what cruelty are we talking about?

Cruelty-free interior design means that we only work with materials and products that are not in any form gained or derived from animal cruelty. Common materials present in a home or office that are considered cruel are leather, down, wool, fur and silk.

Against the common belief, none of these are by-products of the meat industry but their consumption and use support huge industries that make money of breeding and 'harvesting' animals, treating them as objects rather than the sentient, social beings they are.

All of the materials mentioned above can only be produced by torturing, harming and exploiting others. They are also not healthy for you and they are not environmentally sustainable.
